Removing ceramic shells without damaging the investment castings inside is a common problem that is easily solved with NLB high-pressure water jets. The jets cut cleanly through the ceramic, completely removing it in minutes. Even when parts are intricately-shaped, the water does no harm to the casting.
This process is much more productive than the tedious method of chipping by hand, and more reliable. It features precision nozzles mounted on a hand lance or an arm that moves up and down as the casting is rotated, for thorough coverage. NLB offers two standard cabinets. |
