Our History

NLB Corp. was founded in 1971 in the Flint, Michigan, garage of Forrest Shook. Under his leadership as company president, NLB grew into one of the world’s leading water jetting equipment manufacturers. Mr. Shook was widely recognized for his contributions to the industry and his visionary leadership, earning several prestigious awards, including:

  • Forrest Shook was a founding member of the Water Jet Technology Association (WJTA).
  • Mr. Shook was awarded the WJTA’s highest honor, the Pioneer Award, in 2007.
  • Mr. Shook was named Michigan Entrepreneur of the Year by Inc. magazine in 1991.
