NLB water blasting units are equipped with positive displacement reciprocating pumps, which means they continuously pump water whenever the system is running. Because shut-off-style lances and foot controls don’t have a built-in way to relieve pressure, using an unloader valve is the safest method for managing flow.
When the operator releases the trigger on the lance, the unloader valve activates by closing off the water outlet and safely diverting the high-pressure flow. This prevents pressure buildup and helps protect both the equipment and the operator.
In automated applications, unloader valves can also redirect water back to the tank when flow is stopped at the work site, ensuring safe and efficient system performance.
NLB offers two stainless steel unloader valve models designed for long-lasting durability. The UL-452 handles up to 25 gallons per minute, while the UL-904 handles up to 50 gallons per minute. Repair kits are also available to keep your equipment performing at its best.
